      I have a feeling the Mets are only talking to Oakland in order to gauge the market for trading Niese.

      Given that Gio is similar (although obviously more valuable) to Niese,   Sandy is most likely trying to see what teams are offering so he knows what he can get for Niese.

            I would be very happy if the Mets can get Yasmani Grandal or Travis d’Arnaud in return. Would give us some serious hope going into 2013.

      It would have to start with Murphy, Parnell and 2 prospects, if they didn’t want to include Niese.  Of those 2 prospects, Flores?  Fmart?  Havens?
