It’s hard for me to hate Omar, because he always did what he thought the fans wanted. Unfortunately, doing things to make fans happy is a piss poor way to run a ball club. After the 2006 season he seemed to become uninterested with “unsexy” transactions for the team. Things like backup catchers, pinch hitters, reserve players, spot starters and relief pitchers weren’t exciting, so we didn’t need any.
