One bonus of Reyes signing elsewhere is the schadenfreude I get, in the masochistic joy of watching my fellow Mets fans spiral out of control from the loss of this player. Does that make me an awful person, probably, but I don’t care much.
I love reading the nonstop ridiculous nonsense by these people. Reyes leaving apparently ended any chance the Mets will ever have at competing. Your schadenfreude makes you a good person to me, but I’m a terrible person, so who knows.
Just scored a bottle of Brooklyn’s black op’s. A stout aged in bourbon barrels. There was only one case for the store so I grabbed it because I have a buddy that is stout crazy. It cost $27, the most I ever spent on a bottle and luckley the wife didn’t choke me out. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
Also if you didn’t read my other post “Stone’s Epic Vertical”. Was a killer Belgium.
Mmm, Black Ops is a personal favorite from Brooklyn. Great beer. It’s a barrel aged version of their black chocolate stout, which is a damn fine beer to begin with
I’m not sure if it was a bad bottle or what, but I actually found this year’s Stone Vertical Epic to be tough to drink. I’ll have to grab another bottle to see if it was just a random bad bottle or just a set of flavors that didn’t work for me.

Wow, that’s a shame. I know on the bottle it says to wait until after 12/21 to drink it, were you being a rebel? I would grab another, I think it was bad luck.
Currently drinking a “Hoptimus Prime” and just finished baking cookies. I;ve been baking since last night and started up again at 8am today. Now it’s time for the wife to drive me around while I hit the cheer.

Yeah, I was being a rebel I’ll have to give it another try soon.
Never had Hoptimus Prime, but it sounds yummy. About to crack into a Sixpoint Diesel followed by a Southern Tier Porter.

Wonder what Casey would have said to Reyes:
‘Son, we’d like to keep you around this season but we’re trying to stay out of bankruptcy court’?
or how about:
‘Son, we’d like to keep you around this season but you don’t fit the organization’s model of signings-for-under-a-million-dollars’?
Sigh….

How about, ‘Son, we’d like to keep you around, but when your hammy explodes we don’t want to get screwed’.
