Fan Posts Of The Day – 1/29/2012

Today’s 1st F.P.O.T.D. is in response to an article by Ed Leyro of Metsmerizedonline where he talks about ways For The Mets To Stick It To The Marlins when they face them at the end of the season in payback for all the times they stuck it to the Mets in years past.

The 2nd F.P.O.T.D. is in response to a link to an article written by Nick Cafardo of the BostonGlobe over at Metsblog where he ranks the 30 teams after their offseason moves. The Mets ranking 27th on that list.

Fan Posts looks for those fans whose comments bring something more to the blogosphere than the (insert noun) sucks type of comments.

    Excellent idea Mr N!!

Well, I know one thing for sure. You will never see a post captured here originating in Bayonne.

I was hoping it was going to be Kingman’s MMO appearance on Friday night.

        Hahaha!

I just hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

        That guy is too much.

I almost feel sorry for him.

        Almost.

I’m looking at it as a “Social Experiment”, I am really interested in why he thinks that way. In the end when you get close enough where the guy really has to think through what he is saying, he runs and hides until the next post. This leads me to believe that he is just plain ignorant.

Every once in a while he even has a valid point but since he types every response like a rabid pit-bull, it just lacks all credibility and intelligence.

I think in many ways, he is just REALLY angry that it is not still about 1972. Or maybe 1958.

When too much current realism confronts him, he does have the good sense to go away.

I just detest aggressive ignorance; it really does bother me.

And you are correct sir; he most definitely is just plain ignorant.

Whoa there kimosabe. Although 1958 was generally a bad year for New York Giants (baseball, not football) and Brooklyn Dodgers fans it was on a personal level a very good year for me. :-)

            Haha!

All I meant was that that idiot on that other silly site probably longs for a time when women were in the kitchen and silent, and baseball players were judged on BA and HR mostly.

I have nothing against 1958—after all, it was eight years before I was born!

They tried to suck Mr. North into Bizarro world today. He tried to be diplomatic, but that usually doesn’t work with terrorists.

What I still can’t believe is many many years ago I engaged Bayonne in a discussion and got him to agree and we parted respectfully. I couldn’t believe it at the time and I guess he’s found his full voice and I’d have no such hope nowadays. Then again I wouldn’t waste my time nowadays either.

    Great idea, Jerz.

Do I get the internet Flying Toaster prize for being the first post highlighted? LOL…..

If you really want to read the sublime and ridiculous, check AA’s daily Applesauce post for yesterday. Usually in the off season, these might get a handful of comments on whatever point the poster wants to respond to.

Last night, some young NY Met fan decides to join to try and use his brand of logic to convince us all we’re the problem the Mets sux b/c we refuse to boycott the Mets until the Wilpons sell out. To further LOL, he sees nothing wrong with moving on to the Red Sox or Phillies until the Mets are relevant again.

Dude has absolutely no sense of humor and actually sees nothing wrong with that Yankee ‘entitlement’ type attitude as a fan.

Geez MF4D, I have a REALLY busy day—now do I have to go toy with an idiot at AA also??

      :-)

      1. SaltyGary

LOL. Kind of sad. I know if there were actual Mets things to talk about I wouldn’t burn my time messing with the dopes.

      2. MetsFan4Decades

I usually check in with AA daily as they have some very good analysis on there which includes the prospects as well as what we can expect from the starting 25. The do a nice job also in season of breaking down each game played.

The daily ‘Applesauce’ post is usually under 50 comments. When I saw this one approaching several hundred comments, I couldn’t resist looking to see what the argument….eh, debate was all about.

My two passions in life are reading and baseball. So I spend an incredible amount of time reading about baseball. It’s addictive….LOL.
