Don’t Expect To See Buchholz In A Mets Uniform In 2012

In an ESPNNewYork article David Pasti who is the agent for Taylor Buchholz says his client plans to skip the 2012 season. Pasti says,

“If he signs with anyone, it would be with the Mets,” Pasti said. “They way they handled the situation with Taylor meant a lot to him. The Mets really cared about him. As of right now, Taylor is taking the year off. He’s feeling great, but not ready to get back into baseball. He’s taking it one day at a time.”

This issue is no joke; imagine what it must be like for him….

It is good that he was properly handled by the Mets.

No problem, since I wasn’t expecting to see him anyway!

And to 2nd Knogs thoughts, I hope it all works out for him.

and imagine, a story about the Mets stepping up and handling a difficult situation well, and a player/agent appreciating the team. You know that won’t be widely reported!

That’s really a shame. I’m pulling for him.

Just think about what Greinke had to go through with fans expecting him to crumble after any given bad pitch with his anxiety disorder. There is so much stigma to these issues and it sounds like the team handled it perfectly.

My mom suffers from sever depression and my sister has a touch too, thankfully I got the alcoholism from the family instead :) But I can’t imagine having to deal with that issue, being on the mound during a instance and trying to throw a pitch. Just take the stress of that moment and amplify it 100 times.

Jets fans–which I am not–you MUST see the new Joe Namath documentary on HBO—it is absolutely fantastic!

You might need to help Mr. N out:

No I don’t. That will only make things worse.

I can’t believe I just read through a large part of that comment thread. My brain hurts once again. You did an admirable job against impossible odds, MrNJ. You must have a ton of patience to keep going back there again and again.

I think some of those guys are like siblings that fight all the time, but really love each other underneath (and that is just their way of showing it!)

            OK, maybe not…

I believe there are just a handful of very angry Met fans over there…..a couple who don’t know the meaning of the word debate and who have to take every opposite opinion personally. Just crazy….

A few of them are just inherently jackarses, and not particularly bright on top of that. A deadly combination.

        LOL!

Anyone who spends that much time arguing with the ignorant children over at that complete joke of a site needs far more help than I could ever provide.

          It’s a way to pass the time…

Sorry to hear this. Wouldn’t surprise me if since Buchholz is feeling better now and is thinking more clear, he’s going to take the season to decide if staying in baseball is the best course for him.

    Best of luck to Taylor
