RHP Scott Moviel and C (the awesomely named) Dock Doyle were each suspended 50 games after failing a test for “a drug of abuse”, not to be confused with a “performance enhancing drug” (HGH, steroids, Barry Bonds’ flax seed oil, etc.). They will each be ready to go by mid June. A second round pick in ’07 out of a high school in Lockwood, OH, the extremely tall Moviel (6’11″) spent last year at Hi-A St. Lucie going 5-10 with a 5.10 ERA (how’s that for symmetry). In 125 IP he had 34 walks and 66 strikeouts. Doyle served as his battery mate and hit .296 with a .359 OBP, 2 HR and 11 RBI. He played in only 24 games last season, and will look to miss even more now. He is a 5th round pick of the ’08 draft out of Coastal Carolina University.

Drug of abuse? As in what they call recreational drugs?
Guess they thought they wouldn’t be caught….

So why is there a picture of dried oregano leaves as the feature image in this post?
