Yeah, not sure I buy into the mindset that the Mets lose 100 games this season.
They might hover around .500. However, given the other 4 teams in the NL east, still might not be good enough to finish anywhere other than last.
still, don’t go too off the deep end on the rest of the division.
The phils are still the phils (dominant top of th erotation, other than that a nromal team without huge offense). The Braves had an interesting year and return mostly intact.
the Nats aren’t going to scare anyone with the bats, but did add a couple of decent SPs, but again, they aren’t rolling Cy Young out there.
and who the hell knows about the Fish, but they did only win 72 last year. Health will play into their success ro failure to a large degree. And of course, the side show aspect.
so if they mets stay healthy-ish, and guys perform to normal expectations, they certainly will be fully competitive for at least the middle of that pack.
Lousy starting pitching, a bullpen that was horrendous last year and was upgraded slightly, awful defense, and a tough division… the only people this team will be surprising will be those that expect 100 losses or a full year of contention. Looking at the April schedule, this team could be buried by May 1st.
I think the Mets will surprise everyone early but as the season wears on the team will eventually fade.
I know our rotation is pretty weak but its not like we have crappy guys out there. I mean we wont have any all-stars but is it that far fetched to have 5 guys with a sub 4.00 ERA???

I agree with Terry. They are a middle of the pack team (IOW, +/- .500)

Have you ever eaten a hop? I feel like they would be good sauteed and stuffed into a rrok tenderloin or something…

No, I’ve never eaten a hop. I imagine it would taste mostly grassy, but would be worth a try one of these days.

It’s way too bitter. Good in Beer. Bad straight up or in pork tenderloin.
