According to Metsblog and other sources the Mets are in the final stages of re-signing Chris Young. Young pitched very well in his four starts but that is all he could muster before going down again. However, while the ignorants at other blogs might boo or ask why sign a guy who was injured last year it is important to note that this is just a minor league deal. A team never goes an entire season with 32 starts from 5 starters thus any names that can be added to the mix that are capable of producing a decent start when needed is a good thing. While most expect him to be ready around early June, I am fine with a post ASB Chris Young to pair in the rotation. Lets hope that he is healthy and if he gets the opportunity to show his ability it’s for a traded or released Pelfrey and not filling in for an injured Johan.
