There has been a lot of talk during the off-season regarding some of the Mets new acquisitions and the likely hood that they are really pawns for a trade. The team also has 7 starters that are natural first basemen playing out of position. OK, slight exaggeration. There are also a few players who are in a make or break situation, and this year may be their last to prove their worth.
So let’s play a game. Out of the starting 25 man roster, who will make it past the season, who will be traded, or who will move to a different position? Also, who in the minor leagues will become a permanent fixture of the team before the rosters expand in September? I’m not talking about one of those 2 week call-ups just because a position player is hurt, who do you feel will step up and stay up.
So did Sandy only acquire players to be used as trade chips? Will Bay be golfing in August? Will Terry spontaneously combust due to lack of hustle? Let’s see what you have to say.
