Interesting. I think most of us watching Ike are seeing he’s not picking up the pitches – not recognizing what’s coming in.

Sorry but the last opinion I want on Davis is Hojo. No surprise the Mets offense started to worry about getting on base a hitting their pitch after he left.

please, keep Hojo away from the hitters. at all costs.

Davis too fast? heck, if he slowed down any more, he would still be swinging after the pitcher has the ball back (though he may be already, given how convoluted his swing is now!)

How about looking at Duda, and taking outside pitches with power to LF, instead of pulling them and rolling over weak grounders to the 2B? Now I know going with the pitch the opposite way is not something HoJo ever heard of, but it can be done!

Now lets see…….Duda’s hitting .172 with a .219 OBP. Believe it or not Duda is still not the best hitter in major league baseball. The last thing you want is for Ike to start making wholesale changes and Duda’s hitting mechanics is totally different than Ike’s.

was not talking about mechanics. Just approach. Use the whole field, drive the outside pitch to LF with power, etc.

and at least Duda is coming alive, and he does have 3 bombed HRs, so something to show for his efforts!

        and much cleaner mechanics.

Heath Bell blows his 2nd save opportunity as the Astros score 4 in the 9th and beat the fish 5-4.

    He drops the ball!

Ugly error there. Gotta come in a few steps and get under it, catching it in the air. He certainly had enough time to do so.

    HoJo’s advice for Ike,

“Slow down, you move too fast.
You got to make the morning last.
Just kicking down the cobble stones.
Looking for fun and feelin’ groovy.”

    Dear Hojo,

Love ya but your time as Mets hitting coach has come and gone. I’ll take a golf tip though, I’m desperate.
