talk about loading up on the lefties.
Very interesting though seeing Duda moved into the 4 hole. Wonder how that is going to work out? Hopefully he (Duda) has a good day and gets dialed in (mechanically and confidence wise!) and can just stay there for a nice long stretch.

good chance it means Duda pinch hit for with Bay late in the game.

why bother? Bochy will immediately bring in a RH pitcher, and Bay will be an automatic out!

he won’t be able to, because Bochy will bring in the lefty for Duda at that point, and then Collins brings in Bay.

Batista vs. Lincecum. Oh boy…
I see Timmy has struggled in his first 3 starts. Hopefully he makes it 4 straight starts.

Which has higher odds:
Lincecum has a 4th terrible start in a row,
or Batista pitches well.
Not sure I like our odds, but who knows.

batista was great in his last start. if he can replicate that one, it will be a good day!
hopefully Timmy doesn’t like cold dank weather. Though I guess in SF you get plenty of that! Hey, maybe that is the reason for the slow start?
This is also a day where if you can work the counts and get into the pen early, it can really pay off.

It’s 2012 ,might be time to stop using the 2009 shot of Citi Field.

Listening to KB on the pregame show.
No roster changes yet.
Speculation:
Hefner is activated for game one.
Cedeno goes on the DL for game two. Hefner is essentially sent back down and Valdespin is brought in to replace Cedeno.
KB said they’ve still got a couple of minutes to make a decision.
Apparently Hefner was scheduled to pitch tonight so he’s on schedule if he does get into the game today.

they would have to put Cedeno on the DL for game one though in order to activate Hefner.
I could see them holding off instead, and if the pitching isn’t stretched, maybe not bothering, since I believe he would have to be added to the 40 man roster?
At this point, just do what they are doing so we can stop trying to figure it all out!

They just announced it.
Cedeno to the DL. Hefner activated for game one.

makes sense. And depending on what happens with the pitching in game 1, he can be sent back down with Valdespin activated for game 2.
hopefully the combo of batista and heffner can pitch deep into the game today. ANd of course, Terry can resist the urge to empty the pen early (another classic Jerry move, burn 3 RPs in the 6th inning of the 1st game of a DH!)

hahaha – Jerry and his BP management used to make me crazy.

I hope you don’t believe Terry is a better in-game manager than Jerry.
I don’t think he is.

no, they seem to be about the same, though Terry is probably a little saner. Still too many bunts, and some odd pen moves, but I would still give the crown to Jerry.
and Terry at least doesn’t drive you insane when he talks.
