Ike Davis is tied for the lead in MLB for most base runners “89″ on base when they stepped to the plate. The percentage of those to come around to score (not necessarily with an RBI) is 6%. The only player to do worse with a minimum of at least 70 base runners on base when they stepped to the plate is the New York Yankees Robinson Cano with 4%.

Obviously this means the Yankees should designate Cano for assignment. Major League pitching just figured him out and he’ll never be the same.

that really is pitiful.
for all the various ups and downs (SP, Pen) this year, if Ike was having the first 5 weeks from last year this year instead (or too!), the Mets would probably be in first place.

Not only that but he is striking out in over half of those chances. Can’t just be unlucky when you never even put the bat on the ball.

By the way, nice work on this. Sorry I missed it.

So…I guess the question when Ike came up – ‘but can he hit lefties’ – is rearing it’s ugly head. Because right now, it sure doesn’t look like it.

Right now I don’t think he can hit lefties, righties or beach balls.
