Last night on the farm, there was very little offense to speak of, but Mets affiliates still managed to win 2 of 4 games.
Buffalo had Sunday off while they travel to Gwinnett. Matt Harvey gets the start tonight against the Braves.
Binghamton 2, Harrisburg 1
Josh Rodriguez singled home Pedro Zapata in the bottom of the 9th for a walk-off win. Greg Peavey was good again, going 7 innings and letting up just 1 unearned run. Armando Rodriguez pitched 2 shutout innings out of the bullpen and got the win; his ERA also moved below 1. A Matt Den Dekker double was the only extra-base hit of the game for the B-Mets. Pedro Zapata was the only one who had a multi-hit game. Reese Havens was 0 for 4 with 2 strikeouts, dropping his average to .227.
Dunedin 5, St. Lucie 3 Game 1, 7 innings
Chase Huchingson wasn’t quite his usual self giving up 5 runs on 7 hits and 4 walks through 5 innings of work, although he did strike out 6. A double by Robbie Shields and singles by Francisco Pena and Alonzo Harris were the only 3 hits for the Lucies.
St. Lucie 8, Dunedin 0 Game 2, 7 innings
Kyle Allen couldn’t get out of the 5th, but he did throw 4.1 scoreless innings, scattering 7 hits while striking out 3. Ryan Fraser and Hamilton Bennett both pitched 1.1 innings of relief. Cory Vaughn went hitless with 2 strikeouts, but Richard Lucas, Cesar Puello, and Rafael Fernandez all had 3 hits each. Daniel Muno and Robbie Shields both had 2 hits each. Lucas drove in 3 runs while Muno hit his 3rd homer of the year.
Lakewood 4, Savannah 0
Rafael Montero gave up 2 runs in 5 innings and took the loss because of a struggling Gnats offense. Montero walked 2, after entering the game with only 1 walk all season. T.J. Rivera had 2 of the Gnats 4 hits. Travis Taijeron went hitless for a change. The Gnats lineup finished with 5 players hitting .205 or lower.

Was hoping Reese Havens would start off strong now that he’s back. Looks like he’s struggling at the plate right now.

has to take a little bit to get his timing back, and he has not been playing every day so far (probably easing him back in).
so, hopefully a good 2-4 week run will get him dialed in.
I do want him up by the trade deadline though.

I think when you miss that much it will take some time to get back going. I expect he will hit, he always has.

in that spirit, send Ike down too so they can get used to playing next to each other!
