so far it seems that Gavin (I will never get his last name spelled correctly, so why bother?) signed for ~ 250K below slot.
so depending on how you look at it, more money to spend overslot on some of the top guys they got after they slipped late for sign ability reasons, or #*&^%$%& cheap ass moneyballing bastards trying to ruin the f&64==ing team being cheap moneyballing bastards.
It will be interesting to watch how The Nats do with their signings. Considering that last year they spent $15M on draft bonus expenditures and this year their pool tops out at $4.4M.
Which team if any will go over their pool by 5-10% and lose next year’s 1st round pick? I am curious to find out.
the Mets picked up a few guys late (Austin Barr for example) that were first 5 round talents. Would be nice to get some of them signed, him especially…
pretty sure I did not hallucinate this, but I saw something after the draft quoting a Met FO type about Reynolds. For all the poster angst about getting a 3Bman without huge power, they apparently envision him as a MI (so much less of an issue), and are actually planning to use him as a SS.
Must have some serious D skills to pull that move off, since usually they go the other way!
Wonder if Arkansas just had a really good SS so that is the only reason he was playing 3B to start with?
one thing on power numbers for college kids — what they did in college doesnt mean that pro personnel can’t tinker with the swing to help generate more power. jeff bagwell?
Did I see Gary Ward on that list? Aren’t his grandkids old enough to play MLB by now?

is there a way we can add to this chart with the recommended slot value and what they actually signed for (or if they didn’t sign)
I think that would be really good for reference purposes…
