   looks like the dominos are starting to fall.

   If he can hit in AAA, he may just become the front runner for the CF job next season. That job should be wide open (2B too by all rights).

   Hell, throw RF in their, with DUda anchoring Left. A boy can dream of a Bay free roster, right?

      I tend to think this is Bay’s last year if he doesn’t turn it around. Nobody really sheds a high priced player with more than a year left so he’s here for the duration of 2011.

      I’m figuring Duda in LF then it gets a tad sketchy.

      Assuming Ike figures things out and Thole sticks that’s 3/8 LH. If you have dD, Kirk, and Valdy that’s 6/8 LH. I dont think dD or Kirk have enough offense for RF especially with their K-rates. I’d expect one to be traded. You can probably get something decent for Kirk (great D, average production – his OPS+ is about 100+/- the last time I looked). So dD becomes the CFer, probably next.

         agreed on Bay. I can’t see any way he is on the team next season.

         I could see a bit of a rotation in the OF. Maybe a RF platoon with Kirk and a RH bat. But, lots of moving parts.

         I actually don’t expect Valdespin to be the 2B. So far he hasn’t shown he is at all close to being a viable ML player. i do, however, think it won’t be murphy.

         so the L/R mix could change. Even with DD (who I really could see becoming the CF guy). And 2B would be a prime spot to go RH.

            I’m with you and Byran on thinking Valdespin will not be playing 2nd base for the Mets. In fact, I think Valdespin can be packaged in a trade for pieces we need.

         They definitely need a RH outfielder getting significant PT. They can’t do Duda, Den Dekker, and Kirk plus Ike and Thole and another lefty at 2B that’s way too many. Duda really needs to move to LF. Den Dekker will only play CF unless he’s the 4th outfielder. I can’t imagine Valdespin being an everyday 2B.
