Last night on the farm there was 2 wins and a loss. Coincidentally, there were 2 good performances by starting pitchers and 1 not so good performance by a starter. Also, 3 guys that will all be back in Flushing by the end of the month made appearances, and Matt Den Dekker hit his first AAA homerun. Let’s check out the details:
Pawtucket 8, Buffalo 3
Dylan Owen had a brief start, giving up 4 runs in 3 innings. Jack Egbert gave up another 3 runs, putting the game out of reason. Jenrry Mejia made his first relief appearance of the season, allowing 1 hit in a scoreless inning. Manny Acosta let up 3 hits in 2 scoreless innings, striking out 2. Rehabbing Ronny Cedeno and Justin Turner were both 1 for 4 and played 9 innings in the field. Cedeno struck out twice. Matt Den Dekker was 1 for 4 with a solo homer.
Binghamton 4, Altoona 3
Gonzalez Germen was real good for his second straight start, lasting 6 innings and giving up 3 runs (1 earned) on 8 hits while walking none and striking out 6. Ryan Frazer struck out the side in the 7th and then Armando Rodriguez struck out 4 in 2 scoreless innings to get the save. Dustin Martin and Rylan Sandoval both had multi-hit games and 2 RBI’s each. Reese Havens was 1 for 3 with a walk.
St. Lucie did not play as their first half is over. There will be 7 PSL Mets in the FSL all-star game tonight. Their second half begins Monday. Expect some promotions to come following the all-star game.
Savannah 5, Rome 4
Rafael Montero was good again, pitching 6 innings and giving up 2 runs on 7 hits with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Both runs came on a 3rd inning homerun. Every game Montero seems to pitch very well except for 1 or 2 mistakes that the other side capitalizes on. Carlos Vazquez gave up a couple of runs to make it close but Jeffrey Walters got the final 5 outs to earn the save; he has a 0.99 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 26 innings this year. Cam Maron was 3 for 5 and has a 12-game hitting streak. Aderlin Rodriguez and Brian Harrison both had 2 hits. Greg Pron was 1 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI’s. Travis Taijeron was 1 for 2 with 2 walks and 3 runs scored.
Also, if you missed it yesterday, the Brooklyn Cyclones released their opening day roster: http://realdirtymets.com/2012/06/15/brooklyn-cyclones-roster-breakdown/ Their season starts Monday.

we do sometimes, but i can try to do it more often if that’s what the people want. RDM also does a posting of minor stats every week. http://realdirtymets.com/2012/06/11/a-look-at-the-mets-minor-league-stats-week-10/
