Last night on the farm the B-Mets won going away, the Lucies scored just in time, and the Cyclones were stifled. There was plenty more too, so let’s check it out:
Durham 6, Buffalo 5
Garrett Olson was good for once letting up 1 run in 5 innings, but Ramon Ramirez followed giving up 3 runs on 4 hits in .2 innings. Jenrry Mejia gave up 2 more runs, getting just 1 out. Pedro Beato let up 2 hits but managed to pitch a scoreless inning. Matt Den Dekker had a big game going 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 RBI’s. Josh Satin was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Ruben Tejada finally had a good game going 2 for 3 with a walk and 3 runs scored.
Binghamton 12, Erie 2
Darin Gorski had a nice outing, going 6 shutout innings giving up 5 hits and a walk while striking out 4. Jeff Stevens and Edgar Ramirez combined for the rest of the way. Wilmer Flores, as the DH, was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Jefry Marte was 1 for 3, hit his 6th homerun of the season, walked twice, and scored 3 runs. Eric Campbell doubled, tripled, and drove in 3 runs. Wilfredo Tovar was 1 for 5 with a triple and 2 RBI’s. Juan Centeno and Pedro Zapata had 2 hits each; Centeno drove in 2 runs.
St. Lucie 8, Fort Myers 7 (5 innings)
This one got cut short after 5 innings, conveniently after the Lucies scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th when Rafael Fernandez and Blake Forsythe hit back to back home runs. Cory Vaughn also homered, his 14th of the season. Travis Taijeron doubled, walked twice, and drove in a run. Chase Huchingson lasted 4.2 innings, giving up 7 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks, but he did strike out 5. Taylor Whitenton got the final out of the 5th and got the win.
Savannah 5, Augusta 1
Yet another good outing for Jacob DeGrom, allowing 1 run on 8 hits in 6 innings while striking out 5. Chasen Bradford had 2 shutout innings and T.J. Chism threw 1 shutout inning. Gilbert Gomez, Dustin Lawley, and Yucarybert De La Cruz all had 2 hits. Gomez, Brandon Brown, and Aderlin Rodriguez each doubled.
Aberdeen 6, Brooklyn 1
Julian Hilario was good, giving up 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 6. Dawrin Frias let up 4 runs and got 2 outs. So far, the Brooklyn starters have all been fantastic, but the bullpen has had some struggles. The offense had some struggles as well. Brandon Nimmo and Alexander Sanchez both doubled, but those were the only 2 hits of the game for Brooklyn. Kevin Plawecki drove in the Cyclones only run.
Kingsport 5, Greenville 5 (suspended in 5th)
This game got suspended and will be picked up today before the scheduled game. John Gant let up 5 runs on 8 hits in 5 innings, but did strike out 6 with no walks. Eric Peguero, Gavin Cecchini, and Tomas Nido all have 2 hits each thus far; Nido homered.
