The 25th Annual Triple-A All-Star Game is tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Coca-Cola Field home of the Buffalo Bisons. Mets prospect Matt Harvey is expected to pitch the 2nd & 3rd inning with Valentino Pascucci batting 7th and DH’ing.
You can watch the game on MLB Network or listen to it on any of the 30 Triple-A radio markets. Tom Seaver is scheduled to throw out a ceremonial first pitch with the official first pitch being delivered in what should prove to be something to see by the Frontier SkyDivers who will drop in (literally) from above.

Just watched an interview with Seaver in a Bisons jersey. He’s also supposed to be in the booth in I believe the innings Harvey will be pitching. On MLB Network.

I still think the Mets want him and the Bisons to have this moment with the game being in Buffalo. If Niese is pitching Friday now and it’s Wednesday they can probably slot him in for 5 days from now and treat today like an off day pen session. Could work all around, give the kid this spotlight moment and then call him up. Heck, Seaver’s at the game maybe Tom will hand deliver him to Atlanta.
Do feel bad for Gee if it’s true he may be facing season ending surgery Friday to do a more in depth surgery to prevent a repeat of the condition.

Seaver being asked about Harvey and he knows nothing about him. Didn’t even know if he went to college or not…
Disappointed. Basically saying he knows nothing about the Mets now and only follows the box scores. Ugh, thanks Tom.

well, with Gee done for the year, just call him up.
maybe skip his turn next time through so he can have 1 more MiL tune up, then bring him up for the 7/21 game when they really need a 5th SP.
side benefit to that is, he makes his first start at home (against the dodgers), and his 2nd start will be vs. the Dbacks. So not in-division pennant race road games.

Off Topic: So with things rather quiet tonight I been wondering looking ahead what will the Mets do regarding Gee?
Possible trade to clear up the 40-man still seems like a move they need to do unless they simply plan on dfa’ing players.
In theory they could trade say Hefner alone or in a package deal add Harvey to his roster spot on the 40-man and promote Wheeler to triple-A.
Another thing is depending on how much they like having Don Q’s lefty bat to go with Tejada (which can’t be much since he hardly plays) they can either try getting him through waivers or moving him in a package as well. When J-Bay is set to return.
Whatever they do the 40-man really looks like it needs to be dealt with especially if they plan to add Harvey to the 40-man.
