Most everyone is off due to the All Star Game – which does not interest me in the least. Anyway, Savannah was in action; let’s see what they were up to…
Savannah 2, Delmarva 0
Logan Verrit gets the game ball going the distance in a shutout of the Shorebirds, allowing six hits and a walk with seven punch outs – including striking out the side in the ninth. For the season Verrit is 3-2, 2.84 ERA, 51IP, 9 BB, 59K’s. Aderlin Rodriguez knocked in two with a two out single in top of the eighth to break the scoreless tie, and Matt Reynolds was 2 for 3 with a run scored. This one wrapped up in a crisp one hour and fifty seven minutes, by the way. And look who was playing LF for Delmarva – it’s Endy Chavez. Sigh. I still can’t separate that catch with the fact the Mets lost that game. I suppose I never will….

nice season so far by Logan. Good that he seems to be recovered from his arm problem. Might be seeing him in St. Lucie soon?

Not too soon; Logan missed a month and a half with an injury so that was only his 9th start of the season. I’m thinking mid-late August Logan, A-Rod, and maybe a couple others will head to St. Lucie to help them in the playoffs.
