Is Edgin filling the Gee spot? (insert crude humor here).

Wouldn’t that have to be Dickey?

Better than JJ Putz.

certainly expected. And once again, Terry has a 2nd lefty. hopefully he actually sees if he can be more than just an OOGY though.
and this has nothing to do with replacing Gee of course, since they were going a man short in the pen already. I assume the next move will happen when they actually need the 5th SP (hopefully not until 7/21!)

ho yeah. forgot the other question.
Who was lopped off the 40 man roster to make room? Schwinden hasn’t been DFA’s for a week or so, therefore it is his time, right?

I believe it was at 39 to begin with.

per MLBTR – which is quoting Heyman –
Chris Schwinden cleared waivers after being claimed four times in the span of five weeks, Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com reports (on Twitter). The right-hander’s playing in the Mets’ minor league system, but he’s no longer on their 40-man roster.

OK then. I thought he ended up on the 40 man, using up that last spot.

He did. He was basically claimed and immediately put on waivers.
hahahaha.
technically the Mets don’t need a 5th starter until the 21st, not that they’re seemingly going that route, but they might as well promote a reliever to replace Batista being pushed to the rotation.

Regarding the Real Dirty Mets blog… Where are Real and Dirty?

They couldn’t keep up with their payments, so the bank Repo’d the site. Mr. NJ and Saltygary pooled their resources and came up with the required $49.95 to take it over.
They just have not had a chance to rebrand it the “saltyJersey mets blog”

Good, we need another legitimate lefty in that pen. Hope he does well up here.
With Batista moving into the starting rotation, who is the long man now? Are we still down one man in that BP?
Parnell
Rauch
Byrdak
Edgin
Beato
Ramirez
I didn’t forget anyone, did I?

no, that is all of them.
but, I highly doubt that Batista starts first time through. they just have to skip over him. So he can still be a pen guy.
and without him, there is no long man per se. Just a bunch of guys that might go 2. So hope for no short starts or extra innings.

Hopefully when Francisco comes back we bid farewell to Batista and just add Frankie to the current mix. Of course this being predicated on Harvey coming up if Gee is out for the long term.
