At least we keep coming up with new ways to lose these games.

Santana clearly didn’t have it and was lifted after 3. BP for the most part did their job (go figure). Offense almost comes back to get Johan off the hook.

Post game TC said they’re doing to discuss Johan tomorrow and see what the best way forward is. He insisted he’s not hurt.

Johan himself said his shoulder is fine. Insisted the no-no has nothing to do with this slump. Just kept saying he’s not executing his pitches right now.
Apparently, TC had already talked to him b/c he too said: ‘we’ll see what tomorrow brings’.

So I expect them to either skip a start or alter this rotation in some fashion to give him another break.

Oh boy…with Gee out now and Batista in the rotation, and now Johan with problems this is gonna be fun.

Hefner coming up, but didn’t announce who is going down yet.

I agree with Oleo. the only logical answer is Kirk.

      so expect something different.

and don’t hope for Bay getting released before the trade deadline either!

  2. oleosmirf

Hefner up and I think it’s evident that Kirk is going down…

    1. Stick

Hefner can still get up at his age?

oh wait,, not what you meant…

  3. srt

They also announced RA Dickey will be available in the BP tomorrow as well. Especially as they’ll be a little short due to the heavy usage tonight.

Y’all know Batista is going to pitch a complete game shutout, right?

    1. Stick

he did it last year, didn’t he?

but no, while I am never really surprised by anything the mets do, I am fully expecting him to outdo Santana, in a bad way.

but if they get 5, consider it a miracle. And have Hefner ready to caddy him.

Batista will give them 7 great innings just to troll the hell out of all of us. You know this :)

        1. Stick

And would be perfectly fine with it. In this case, I would be happy to be wrong!

    2. oleosmirf

I think that is nullified now that Hefner is back…

      1. srt

Actually, RA available for the BP was announced after the Hefner back up news.

santana is not right. Time for his mid-year R&R stint, which I expected was a given at some point.

and interesting facts from that box score. The only hitter on the team who’s OBP is as high as Wright’s BA is Tejada.

And Valdespin now has a higher slugging % than DW also.

Santana isn’t right because he had major shoulder surgery and was out of baseball for a long time. Anyone expecting him to be healthy and effective the whole year was delusional the whole time as I’ve stated numerously.

  5. Mr North Jersey

Santana over his last 3 starts now has given up 19 earned runs over 12 2/3 innings for a 13.50/ERA.

Mets are simply not going to win many games with those kind of numbers. Heard Collins talk about they were going to see what they could do to help Santana.

Hat tip to Spin and his run of PH HR’s, Murphy with a 4-hit night and the pen for a nice 6 inning 1 run effort.

Mets once again are a loss away from falling to .500 with Batista on the hill 2morrow.

    Need a win.

    LGM!

I don’t believe that the Wipons have reached the stage with their finances to do what the Yankees did a couple of years ago and pick up a salary dump (in that case it was Bobby Abreu from the Phillies) for used toilet paper (now that’s quite an image – BTW I read that germ wise kissing a dog on the mouth is equivalent to wiping your mouth with used toilet paper). So I don’t believe any help will be forthcoming nor should it be. Because, unless Santana can pitch the way he did earlier in the season the Mets will not be contending for a playoff position. So we have to keep focused on the future while tolerating the 2012 Mets weaknesses and hoping for a 2012 miracle. In the meantime I will not waste any time searching the Internet for silly and contrived trade rumors regarding the Mets.

    1. darknova306

Ah, so that’s why my immune system is godly… I always kissed my dogs while I was growing up. :)
Sadly, the Mets aren’t any better than used toilet paper when it comes to being compared to the real contenders in the NL…

      1. srt

Either my immune system is rock solid or my dog has no germs. If you get too close to her face the first thing she’s trying to do is give you a big slobber on the mouth.

        1. Stick

same here. Dog slobber is the ultimate cure-all

          1. gategem

            It’s sickening and perverted!
