It’s your friendly neighborhood Mets Blogger here, Spencer. I’m going to inform you of minor league stuff from last night, so prepare to be amazed.
Buffalo 0 Charlotte 11
Matt Harvey was bad, giving up two HRs while striking out six and walking two. With Johan Santana hitting the DL, it will be interesting to see how the Mets handle Harvey coming off this bad start. The two hits belonged to Oswaldo Navarro and Josh Satin. Nothing to see here folks, carry on.
Binghampton 5 Bowie 7
B-Mets starter Gonzalez German allowed four runs to score in the first inning, and would then promptly be pulled. Armando Rodriguez would allow three more, as the B-Mets pitching staff simply has not had a very good last few days. We had a CJ Nitkowski sighting, as he pitched a scoreless inning striking out one and walking two. Mike Baxter went 2-3 as he is on rehab assignment, he was joined by Juan Lagares’ 2/5, and Wilfredo Tovar’s 2-4.
St Lucie 6 Dunedin 2 Suspended after 4
Blake Forsythe was 2-2, with three RBIs and a double. Yohan Almonte had pitched all four innings, striking out three while only walking one. No word on when this one will be continued, but hopefully Blake Forsythe can continue to find that stroke, the Mets’ farm system needs a catcher.
Savannah 7 Rome 0
Finally a win, as Savannah start Jim Fuller pitched six shutout innings, striking out four while walking two. Cam Maron would go 2/5, along with Gilbert Gomez’s 2/4, and Matt Reynolds 1-4. Fuller rebounded nicely after a nightmarish start last time out, so hopefully he can build on this moving forwards.
Brooklyn 1 Staten Island 3
Staten Island won this game of the Ferry Series, behind a good pitching performance by Evan Rutckyj. Brandon Nimmo went 0/3 with a walk. Phil Evans took an 0/4, and Kevin Plawecki went 1/4 with a double, and he appears to be heating up. Cyclones start Luis Cessa threw five innings, striking out four and walking two.
Kingsport 4 Greenville 13
Gavin Cecchini went 0/4, and the pitching was awesome. I will be scouting Kingsport in a few weeks and will have more on them then. It is important to remember that Kingsport features a lot of players who should be in the GCL, and because the Mets do not have a team in the GCL it will hamper the record of their Appy League team.

Saw that line on Harvey last night. Yikes.
Still rather see him up here than Batista – who was DFA’d, thank you – or Hefner. But with Johan out, I would think we’re going to be seeing both Harvey and Hefner until Johan returns.
