   I think you got too excited and committed premature postulation. I don’t see an actual question.

   but, trying to guess what it would be, no Damn it, it was not over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor!

   And the mets ship is taking on water, but the season is not over with.

   Nothing that the immediate appearance of 2 more quality SPs, Fat franky, and a viable RH bat won’t patch right up.

   Too bad it looks like we are getting batista/hefner/harvey/Mchug/Bay instead. But Fat Franky could be back in a week, and that will help!

   And yes, the Mets are in free fall and it’ll get worse the more they have to fill rotation slots. The only thing that has held the team above water has been the starting rotation, and now they’re faltering and getting injured. This team was never going to be great, as all but a few of us admitted.

   Looking at this on my tablet thinking it wasn’t loading right. I see now I’m not the only one not seeing a question.
   I’m gonna guess it,s got something to do with competing for post season or buyers/sellers at the deadline.

   It was a fun first half. I’ve got very little optimism we’ll be much better than a .500 team though. We no longer have the SP to compete, IMO. Losing two SP for the year and now Johan for who knows how long, seems to be the nail in the coffin. Especially considering we had very little depth in that area to start with.

   I don’t think we’ll be either major sellers or buyers this month. However, if the right deal presents itself, not a doubt in my mind Sandy will go for it.

      The question I’ve been asking is: “why would David Wright have any interest staying here after his option year?” If he want’s to get a ring before his career’s over he best move on so he can get it somewhere else. Entering his 30′s time will be running out.

      And, if that’s the case and the Met’s turn into sellers this year do they start to think again about trading high with Wright this year?

         if they really are going to sell, he is about the only valuable asset. Anything short of him and it is more like cleaning out the crap in your garage so you can get the car back in.

         But what team(s) are guaranteed to make post season year after year? Yankees? Who else?

         Cliff Lee went with Philly instead of the Yankees for supposedly that reason. How’d that work out for him?

            But Lee did make the post season and from there at least you’re in the game. If you’re looking at 5 or so years left in your career you can have a pretty good guess at who’s going to be there over the next 5 years. And if you go evil empire Wright at 3B and A-Rod as DH is not out of the realm of possibility. I know, not anything anyone want’s to think about but put yourself in Wright’s shoe’s if you want a ring before you’re done, whatya do?

   If the question is: Is it HoJo’s fault? Well of course – oh wait damn can’t use that excuse anymore.

   Well then it is clearly Warthen’s Fault? Except that before they lost 3/5ths of their starting rotation to the DL they were the strength of the team.

   Maybe they’re just not that good? Well, duh. They’ve played over their heads with no depth and survived a myriad of injuries to remain over .500 but there is a tipping point at which no more can be withstood. Any team that loses 3/5ths of their starting rotation is in deep you know what. Add to that no bullpen and a left hand heavy leaning line up with thumpers that aren’t thumping and the freefall shall continue. And having to use Dickey yesterday….really now???

   Maybe it’s time to call up a pitching prospect – Well the 28 year old Scott Kazmir pitched well on LI last night.

   Incredible Kazmir is still only 28.
