Wheeler to AAA should follow any moment now as well I would think.

With the shortage of SP in Buffalo, I would expect that too.

Do they call up Cohoon again as well or possibly Gorski?

Lol Harvey is indecisive. Says he might punch Ralph right in the mouth.

cool beans. Makes logical sense at this point. Though I don’t understand why you would activate him Tuesday, if he isn’t going to start until Thursday?
and please, no more of this “it might ruin him” crap. total BS. Prospects have been coming up since the beginning of MLB and getting beat up at first. Some even go down for more seasoning. And survive and thrive.
besides, they all have to go for finishing school in the majors at some point, and this will give him a head start on next year.

Oleo posed same question stick. It may have to do with him being put on the Taxi squad so Warthen can work with him 2morrow. I am guessing there is a time limit once a player is placed on Taxi squad where he either has to be activated or sent down by. If so Harvey might have to be activated Tuesday as opposed to Wednesday or Thursday.

well, first of all, I would prefer they keep Warthen the hell away from Harvey, so he doesn’t have time to screw him up before he gets canned at the end of the year.
and why not just send him to Queens to hang with the team? Are they not allowed to have him around without being on the taxi?

Hopefully Harvey looks good the rest of the year and can be a key component to the rotation for the next 6+ years…

Time to put the big pants on. Pretty much what the season will come down to, future development. Show us what you got, kid.

for what is supposedly a development year, there really has been little development.
I guess Ike and Duda going rapidly backwards is negative development?
and about the only prospect that actually did much that might have taken a step forward, and become part of the future, is Spin. maybe Edgin too.

speaking of duda. his defense hasnt gotten much better either. he still looks lost out there.

I like both Edgin and Spin. Spin is impressing me. Yet not her without a true position. I ish they’d give him both more playing time in the OF and more ABs against both righties an lefties.

I think it’s official. Duda is not an OF.
In fact, the entire OF right now is a mess. They really need to prioritize that going into 2013.
I’d really like Bay to be gone.
Need a CF, unless the idea is to see how Spin fares out there rest of this season.

Duda is also an incredibly poor defensive first baseman so where do you hide him? In the AL is my guess.

Would not surprise me if they trade Duda to the AL.
Problem is, his stock is very low right now. His defense is not good and more importantly…..he’s not hitting.
But if he’s not part of the Mets future, they should trade him. As I don’t think we’re going anywhere this year, there is probably no hurry though.

I think he will end up there too as a 1B/DH. But like you say, if they can’t get the value now, he will likely stay in RF through the end of the year and become part of the off season moves.
I keep saying this, and it does not happen, but they really need to make some big moves this off season. Being patient and letting the young guys develop is fine, but only if you have the right ones in place.
like you say, there is not one starting OF that really should (or is likely to) be out there to start next year, and that does not bode well for a wait and wait plan!
especially since there are no OFs banging on the door in the minors. Maybe you roll the dice with Spin in CF. But who else? Lagares in AA? Den Dekker the K maching? Kirk?
IF, they got plenty of options. C, they need someone and OF has to have some fresh blood. Which is a real good reason to take a run at Upton!

Could not agree with you more on acquiring at least one legitimate starting OF in the off season.

Off Topic: What about what the Oakland A’s are doing? They sweep the Yankees and have gone on a 25-9 run over the last 34 games after a 26-35 start to the season.
Are they still really going to trade Balfour? I am having difficulty believing that they will at this point.

They really had no choice, with Johan on the DL now.
Still leaves Hefner in the rotation b/c of Gee’s spot as well. I’m not sure he’s going to fare any better than Batista did so this should be interesting to see where they go from here.
