Link: Collin McHugh – Buffalo to NYC to Buffalo

Great read from Mets prospect Collin McHugh on his MLB Debut and how he looks at his demotion back to Buffalo as nothing more than just another checkpoint in his Baseball journey or life, as he calls it.

Here is an excerpt of his opening paragraph,

“I’m coming off perhaps the best start of my career, my MLB debut. 7 shutout innings, 9 K’s…I didn’t throw up. Seriously though, stepping onto the hill at Citi Field was a thrill I can’t seem to find the words to describe. Fun. Exciting. Nerve wracking.”

sounds like an interesting guy. He will be getting more starts in September, and certainly should be in the mix in ST to win a job.

This is fantastic. I like my athletes smart.

a special report just for SRT.

Philly sportscasters now talking about the Phils making a run at the playoffs this year after sweeping the nats (damned nats). Because they have crept to within 9.5 games of the 2nd WC. No idea of course as to how many teams they have to jump, but the watch is on!

and sadly, I would not put it past them, since their big 3 SPs are all dialed in now, and they just might pull it off.

The Phillies announcers are blithering idiots. The Atlanta, Washington and Phillies announcers all belong to the national douche bag society. The Phillies could jump over Arizona and the Pirates are starting to fade but they have the Dodgers, Cardinals and Braves fighting for two spots and all three have a sizable lead over the Phillies and have better teams.

Honestly, if the Mets are not in the race for the post season I don’t care who wins it.

of course, if thee was just one team being chased, it would be a different story. When you need to pull a rockies (and go about 25-7 the rest of the way) and still need 3 teams to fade off, that is not good odds.

They really were looking more toward being a sign for next year. And considering since the ASB (1/4 of the season) they are playing at a 95 win pace, even after selling, I fully well expect them to be competing for the division crown again next year.

The Phillies aren’t going anywhere this year anymore than we are.

Don’t know what their team will look like next year, or ours for that matter.

          sadly, I think we do.

their team will look the same, with a new 3B and OF with a big bat. and a few new pen arms. And a 180mill payroll.

ours will look, well, the same. with 1/2 the payroll of the phils.

you might see 1 different position starter than what is out there today (2 tops in the OF). The rotation is all here, and there will be the usual 3-4 new pen arms.

other than that, what you see is what you are gonna get!
