Mets 2012 Combined July/August Record Ranks Among The Mets Worst All Time

It’s official! The Mets winning percentage (.358) for the combined months of July and August this season is 7th worst in Mets history. The last time the Mets had a winnning percentage of .358 or lower for said combined months was 1982 when they posted a .255 win pct. Below are the Mets 10 All-Time worst & best win pct for the months of July and August combined.

    that, is depressing.

    I actually blame Franky for going down. that snowballed through the pen, and hurt. Some other issues of course. And we will never know what would have happened if the FO had been aggressive about getting some reinforcements or an upgrade someplace.

    But, if for the 2 months, they had just treaded water and played .500 (well, 1 game over since an odd #) at 27-26, they would be sitting at 70-62 overall.

    and coincidentally, that is the exact same record as the Pirates, and 1.5 out of the WC

    so all they would have had to do was go 29-24 (.547), which is basically the same as what they played though end of June (.544), and they would today be in the playoff spot!

    not like it would have taken a freaking miracle. Just not that terrible start out of the break.
