First of all, just wanted to thank everyone for a very competitive and fun season. Fantasy baseball can become very long and grueling (especially when your team sucks) and we had great participation from everyone. Second, a heart felt apology to “Texas I’m Stuck In”. The league was put together using a new platform at the very last moment and we didn’t have anytime to advertise and we essential dragged his butt into the league without so much as offering him a free beer. His team was in it until the last week and he remained focused and in the end it fell a part.

Playoffs:
Here is how the playoff brackets play out. There is a winners bracket and a losers, umm I mean a consolation bracket. Each round lasts for 2 weeks. So the first round will end Sunday September 16th and the second round occurs September 17th through October 3rd. This was the ESPN default. I don’t believe I’ve ever been in a league where the playoffs run so long, but it might be a nice change. The saying I have with fantasy baseball is “It takes skill to get into the playoffs and luck to win them”. So, hopefully the longer format takes that luck element down a notch. The one thing I don’t like is it’s going to the very end of the regular season. Generally stars will get days offs heading into the playoffs and stars not making the playoffs might mail it in at the end. So lets see how it shakes out and we can decide if it needs changing for next season.
Also don’t forget this is a keeper league and it is currently set to allow teams to keep up to 3 players from their current roster. So if you have a guy that is out for the season (like me with Batista), you may not want to drop them. The date where you need to make a decision on who to keep is March 1st at midnight. A month ahead of time I will send out reminder emails and if there are any owners that don’t want to play next season we will get that team assigned to someone else. Also, we do have the ability to increase the amount of teams in the league and In February I will begin advertising this.

Yeah, talk about a collapse. Oh well… Took a gamble on flipping Wainright and Latos. Dunn turned out to be good.
I still prefer weekly leagues and definitely ones that don’t require 75 players that can be active per team per week (
), but was a good time and we’ll see if we can’t implode again next year.
