FLUSHING, N.Y., September 10, 2012 – The New York Mets today announced the launch of the R.A. Dickey 3-Pack ticket offer, providing fans the opportunity to cheer on the pitcher tomorrow night and for the rest of the season in his quest to win 20 games and the National League Cy Young Award. Ticket packs start at $43 and are on sale at Mets.com/RA or (718) 507-TIXX.
Dickey will try for his 19th win of the season against the Washington Nationals tomorrow, Tuesday, September 11 at 7:10 p.m.
Fans must pick up their tickets at the ballpark. They will receive a ticket for tomorrow night’s game and two vouchers that can be redeemed for any of the remaining Mets home games. With the team playing 13 of its next 16 games at home and Dickey’s next start scheduled for tomorrow night, there is a high likelihood that his next three starts will all be during home games at Citi Field.
Vouchers can be exchanged for game tickets in advance at the Advance Ticket Windows or on the day of the game at the Box Office. The offer is available for seats in the Field Box, Caesars Box and Promenade Reserved, subject to availability.
In addition, the Mets also announced a special $19 Dynamic Deal for tomorrow night’s game for seats in the Baseline Box or Left Field Reserved, subject to availability.
Dickey is tied for the major-league lead with 18 wins and leads the National League with a 2.64 ERA. He ranks third in the NL with 195 strikeouts and leads the league with five complete games and three shutouts. He is the first Mets pitcher to reach 18 wins since Frank Viola (20-12) and Dwight Gooden (19-7) accomplished that feat in 1990.

If this team had any sense of humor they’d have a RA Travel Mug giveaway night so they could tag it “Dickey’s Cup Night”. They could have at least called this promo “Dickey’s Package”.
I know I’m a sick childish ba$tard….

I’m not sure even an offer like this will bring fans out to the park.

could also just go on stub hub and grab tickets that day, and probably get in even cheaper.

At this point, especially considering I have to travel 200-ish miles, I’d only go to a Mets game if it cost as much as the change I found on the subway that day.

that is my issue. 2 hour+ drive, so weekdays are out. And weekends are generally so busy that they don’t work. even if the tixs were free and I drank my own beer before hand, it will costs quite a bit to get there and back.

Nonsense! I knew someone that lived in Sparta NJ and worked in Smithtown, L.I. and made the daily drive with ease. If he can make that drive for six days a week (he was a manager and had to work Saturdays) then surely you should be able to make the drive to Queens on a weekend.

at this point, they should just take thousands of tickets and hand them out at random, hoping anyone shows up to fill a seat and but some stuff.

Yup, the problem with that of course is it pisses off the people who actually pay for the ticket. That is why they have to masquerade it as a promotion.
