Pitcher from the ’81 season,Dave Roberts would have been 68 today (1944).
Current Mets closer, Frank Francisco is 33 (1979).
Sadly on this date in 1964, Tom Meany- The Mets first Director of Public Relations passed away.
The Baltimore Orioles claimed reserve catcher, Charlie Greene of the New York Mets on waivers on September 11, 1997.

So ridiculous that they just won’t let them wear those hats for the game itself.
On that note – 9/11 – a moment of silence for all those that were lost and all those heroes trying to save those who were lost.
