Say it ain’t so. Say he’s not a platoon guy? Thing is with his new stance it may make hitting LH even worse. I don’t know how but ask Keith.

I don’t get this….when Ike first came up the question mark was all about his struggles to hit lefties in the minors. And out of the gate up here, he had no problem hitting lefties. I remember the booth commenting about it frequently.

Don’t know what happened this year. Too much tinkering?

man, as horrific as those #s are vs. lefties, they are still better than Bay’s OVERALL #s on the season!

actually, ryan Howard is going through the same thing. Bad 2nd half, and horrific vs. LHP.

      .213 .246 .393 .640 is a hole lot better than Ike’s.

I was talking about lefties. On the season, Howard is hitting .163/.209/.300 for a very bay-like .509 OPS against LHP

You are right, I was looking at vs LH starter.

63 sporadic at bats. Means little.

I don’t know if I would say they are sporadic. If you look at the game logs his at bats are mostly no more than a day or 2 apart. It’s not like he is going weeks at a time without facing a lefty.

Yes but most of them are just one at bat at a time, usually v. a lefty reliever/LOOGY because he has not been starting against all of the LHP and facing them 2 or three times a game.

It is worth noting that although he did not have a hit in his last 3 starts v. left handed pitchers (gonzalez, buehrle and maholm) he did have a walk in each of those games in his 3 plate appearances each for a passable .333 OBP in those games.

those guys are no slouches by the way for right handed hitters either.
