Sorry I haven’t been around for a few weeks – some personal business has come up that I had to tend to. But enough about me.
A few weeks ago I reported that there will be a fundraiser for Mets Media Relations guru, Shannon Forde, in order to raise money in her fight against breast cancer.
I am happy to report that the autograph sessions with former Mets players ( and other athletes) event has been sold out, but you can still buy tickets for the dinner, which will be emceed by Ron Darling and will feature more than 50 amazing sports related silent and live auction items. We have signed merchandise and/or experiences from the Mets, Yankees and many more MLB teams, the Jets, Giants, Knicks, Nets, Rangers and more. Plus, there’s an open bar and premium food, dancing and plenty of laughs. Tickets to the dinner cost $100. http://www.hopeshinesforshannon.com/Dinner.html . Even if you cannot attend this event please donate money to this event at the website listed above, and please follow the organization on Twitter at @SupportShannon.
Oh and by the way, you can participate in an online auction where the proceeds go to Shannon’s charity by clicking here. You could get a hitting lesson with David Wright, or attend a taping of the the Daily Show ( as well as meeting Jon Stewart)
Shannon has been a great help to many of the blogs that you read. She has been able to grant us behind the scenes access to events that the everyday fan generally doesn’t have to priviledge to see, and in turn we are able to show you – whether it is interviews with players as well as alumni, food tastings, pre and post game press conferences etc. I consider Shannon a friend, and she is a very strong and determined woman. I expect to work with her for many seasons to come. So PLEASE GIVE !!!
And with that said….. HERE COMES THE INFAMY !!!!!
