Just as many people would read the newspaper for their daily sports. Many would also take a moment to read their favorite comic strip.
Consider this a rare blog version of a daily comic strip. Now every time the name Charlie Brown was mentioned did you replace it with a sucky Mets pitcher for a laugh?
actually, my work firewall blocked it, so I have no idea what it is other than the title. I will check it out later from another PC.
Personally, I think we should have nothing but 24/7 discussions about the latest DW rumor (I hear he had a burrito for lunch: discuss). This is serious business here, serious I tell you.
I have been looking on mlbnetwork.com but can’t find it yet. But, I was watching at 5:30 (whatever show that was) and one of the analysts (no, not sure his name!) did a piece on a really fascinating analysis.
basically, he ranked pitchers based on OPS against, into (I think) 3 catagories (good/middle/bad). Or maybe just good and bad.
anyway, then he looked at all hitters vs. each group. The numbers were fascinating. FIrst of all, it was a huge drop on average between the good and bad (.900ops vs .700, that kind of swing). But what he did was figure out the average swing, then looked how individuals compare in terms of above/below and total spread.
Probably have confused everyone by now, but the biggest spread (interpreted as feasting on stiffs, eaten up by good pitchers)? Josh Hamiliton. Curtis Granderson was right up there. Along with a few other names recognized as bad in the playoffs (which makes a lot of sense).
the only guy I recall mentioned as having a much smaller variance, no surprise, was Jeter.
anyway, it was a well done piece, and maybe it is meaningless, but I found it quite interesting to see.
Reading an article on MLB:
Niese expects Wright, Mets will agree to deal
Some snippets:
“I know he wants to be what Chipper was in Atlanta,” Niese said. “He is the face of the franchise and he wants to be a part of it throughout his whole career. You’ve got to respect a guy like that.”
“It would surprise me [if he did not sign an extension], just because I know the love he has for the city and how he wants to be with the Mets organization his whole career,” Niese said. “I would definitely be surprised if he wasn’t.”
You have to wonder if Wright’s own teammates have any more insider info than any other outlet does right now – or if it really is all speculation on Niese’s part.
Looks like Niese is also having that minor heart rhythm problem fixed and getting married:
The left-hander plans to undergo a minor heart ablation procedure before Christmas, which should finally rid him of the cardiac arrhythmias that have dogged him throughout his career. A month later, Niese will marry his fiancée, Leah Eckman, who accompanied him to Long Beach on Wednesday.

A burrito? If we connect the dots then does it mean that Wright is going to Mexico in a trade?

No, it is because he can be traced back to anything Latino that will insure his departure! Or so say the lunatic fringe.

So Niese is replacing one heartache with another.

LoL, If you had Niese’s ear and could give him some of your sage advice what would you tell him Gategem?
