The untimely death of the great Jack Klugman inspired this question that I think, on a morning where there is no baseball news, might give the Met fan something to think about.
The legendary character of Oscar Madison was a Met fan. He wore the Met hat and attended and wrote about the games.
It made me wonder just how many characters in movies and television were Met fans or at least wore any Met gear?
So to our readers on a dreary Wednesday morning, rack your brain and come up with some answers…..good luck!

Archie Bunker and MIke Stivic (All in the Family) were Mets fans.

Oh boy…not really a big movie buff and don’t watch a lot of TV but these came to mind:
- Of course, the infamous Seinfeld episode with Keith.
- Family Guy reference: Opening day, smack the ball, ‘season over’.
- Little known movie staring Michael Keaton called ‘Game Six’. Although he was a big Red Sox fan in ’86, in that movie.

Billy Crystal in City Slickers, although Billy is a Yankee fan. The reason for the Met cap was that the character was from Queens.

Robin Williams in Cadillac Man had a Mets calender on the wall by his office desk.
Dennis Quad in the movie Frequency the movie revolved around in large part over the 69 World Series as his character a fireman and the men in his firehouse were all Mets fans during a time there was a serial killer.

In Oh, God, George Burns as the Almighty cites his arrangement of the ’69 World Series as his last miracle.

If I have this right the Boston Red Sox traded
Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Becket, Carl Crawford, Nick Punto and $11M
for
Joel Hanrahan, Brock Holt, Allen Webster and Rubby De La Rosa.
