Here is an estimated breakdown at how things look with the projected 25 man Roster/Payroll for 2013 Minus the reported deferred salary amounts of $5M to Johan Santana, $3M to David Wright and $15M to Jason Bay.
Note: Keep in mind that Johan Santana’s buyout was reported that it will be part of 2013 payroll.

Thanks. But since those deferrals are booked against the current year budget despite the cash flow help the Mets get, the actual remaining to spend is closer to $5M.

Off Topic: I saw “Life of Pi” last night. If you saw Castaway with Tom Hanks and did not like it due to it being mostly about one man by himself for most of the film then there is a chance you may not like this film as well since it too is mostly about one man by himself.

Though while Hanks had Wilson the star in Life of Pi has a Bengal Tiger.
    Edge: Tiger

A story about faith, hope and perseverance. with some incredible visuals that validates it’s many Oscar nominations.

Some of the scenes where animals are involved will (at least I did) find yourself at times wondering is that a real animal that they got to do that or CGI and if real then How did they get it to do that.

Of the films nominated for Best Picture at this years Oscars I have seen Lincoln, Life of Pi, Silver Linings Playbook and Django Unchained of which I don’t know how DJango gets nominated for Best Picture and Cloud Atlas doesn’t (Big Time Snub imo). I plan to watch Zero Dark Thirty this weekend but so far i think Lincoln has the edge.

      Thanks Mr. N!

GREAT job and please keep the reviews coming.

      I absolutely loved Cast Away.

And I am pretty sure I heard that much if not most or all of the animal scenes in Pi are CGI.

        Thx for the compliment Kingman.

Most of the animal scenes being CGI explains a lot. Major props on the CGI cause I swear I was really hard pressed to tell where the CGI ended and the real animal began in MANY scenes.

Life of π? A movie about a Transcendental Number. How strange. ;-)

way off topic, but I was in Philly today (at the auto show), and saw one guy where a real old school looking Mets shirt, with Strawberry on the back.

Ironically, we bought some strawberries today while I was wearing an old mets hat.

I thought you were banned from ever entering that city? Luckily for you that you were not discovered or you may have been incarcerated.

“I once spent a year in Philadelphia; I think it was on a Sunday.” — W. C. Fields

Fields once proposed the following epitaph for himself:
“Here lies W. C. Fields. I would rather be living in Philadelphia.”

I thought Philadelphia had some very attractive and friendly young women when I lived in Horsham, Pa. But then again I once met Miss Waco, Texas on flight between Vegas and LA and found here to be both beautiful and friendly but I wouldn’t want to live in Waco.

I think they moved out of philly.

and I put on a disguise when I go in so they don’t recognize me.

I don’t care how broke the Mets are….

    Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS
Miguel Batista, 41, coming back for another season. Will decide soon among 4 teams.

We had better not be one of those 4 teams.

pretty sure that would be the straw that breaks my back.

He will not only be re-signed by the Mets but will be offered a spot in the rotation.

I just threw up a little in my mouth reading that…

        TMI?

        1. greggofboken

He signed with the Rockies. You may masticate safely.
