Video: 5 New Players Including 1 Former & Current Mets Prospect Linked To Biogenesis Clinic

ESPN is reporting 5 new names that are linked to the Biogenesis clinic. Among the names one is of a former Mets prospect and current Astro Fernando Martinez and one is a current Mets prospect Cesar Puello. The other 3 names are Padres SS Everth Cabrera, A’s reliever Jordan Norberto and reliever Fautino De Los Santos who was claimed off waivers by the Padres.

The report says the players were on a list as having received performance-enhancing drugs but it should be noted this alone is not proof that any of the players either received or used PEDs. Adam Rubin of ESPN tweeted the following response from the Mets regarding these news.

Eh….when you said ‘current’ Met, I was almost afraid to read who that was. Not that I wanted to see any Mets name on the list but at least it’s not one of their current MLs.

FMart….wonder if he was trying anything and everything to compensate for the arthritis he was diagnosed with so young?

Sorry I should of added prospect. I have updated it accordingly.

I wasn’t nitpicking….just afraid to open it and see someone’s name on there we’re building a future around.

Apparently 10 players now connected to Biogenesis are current or former ACES cleints — the agency who repped Melky. Several players jumped from them. Wright is one of theirs.

I thought I read last year with that Melky scandal that Wright is one of their clients.

Too many coincidences now with this ACES agency. Where there’s smoke there’s usually fire. Wonder if Wright is thinking about or has already started looking for another agent?

or the other assumption which would explain why his numbers were so much better 5+ years agp

    Puello needs a refund.

      Dummy.
Then again for some of these MiLs, especially the international draftees, making it in the MLs is probably one of their few tickets out of poverty. Can almost understand the need to find ‘an edge’.

One look at this picture of Puello might be enough to convict this young man:

Don’t see many 21 year olds built like this kid.

Marlon Byrd, who faced Wheeler today: “It’s not just him looking like a big leaguer, it’s him looking like a No. 1.”

if he even comes close to that, it will be a nice return for a 2-month rental OF.

now what they really need (other than Wheeler not being a mirage!) is to have Montero, Flumer and Synergies all doing the same thing next ST.

        Flumer and Synergies – LOL.
I guess I’d better learn how to spell the names of some of these getter prospects too.

        1. Stick

well, synergies is what I call him because I have no desire to learn to spell that, unless he makes the Mets. and even then, probably not.

Flumer was just thanks to my lousy typing skills combined with using such an old version of IE that it does not have spell check!

Was it Kong who was calling him Shin Guard?

            Securitygaard and d’Oorknob!

But I LOVE Shingaard and wish I had thought of it!

I’m sticking with Darrrr-Noooo as the next Daa-ryllll chant.

Securitygaard cracks me up. Shingaard uses less syllables, so that might have a leg up on you. and said leg is protected.

If only we signed a Jacques Strappe to play OF. “One stike to Jacques Strappe. Ouch!!”

Rubin reporting Mejia’s name and age confirmed.
Should be in camp within a day or two.

I am sure he is relieved that he actually exists.
