It looks like David Wright might have fellow teammate Ike Davis join him on Team USA. According to a report by Adam Rubin of ESPN New York Ike Davis is one of multiple candidates being considered to be added to Team USA for the World Baseball Classic to replace New York Yankee Mark Teixeira who had to step down due to a right wrist strain.

well, nice props for Ike.
I wonder if facing different (better?) pitching will help or hinder them getting ready for the season? Not talking about injury, just getting their hitting groove on.
I guess as long as they are playing, not riding the pine, it should not matter.

Might be a long shot but I don’t think this is necessarily a bad thing.
With almost a month to go, if Ike is gone for a bit it will give the Mets an opportunity to play some of the collection of bench pieces and/or minor leaguers trying to make the team.

I’d be ok with Ike not going back to AZ this spring.
Or ever.

I don’t know much about that Valley Fever.
Wonder if once you do contract it, being further exposed won’t make a difference one way or the other.

Yea, me neither. But this is the Mets we’re talking about. If there is any chance I’d just as soon not tempt the gods.

except I am pretty sure he lives there in the offseason, so we Met fans are probably screwed anyway. As usual.
