so to translate this, KROd is desperate for a closers job, and could not care less where it is.
Not sure if the “incident” is still relevant at this point, but hard to say how much better he makes the team. Some, but is it worth it?

‘It’ being the operative word.
Wonder how much he’s looking for?
Somehow, I don’t see SA spending several million dollars on a closer right now, especially KRod who has been declining.

What he said:
K-Rod would like to redeem himself.
What he meant:
K-Rod would like to:
Get a paycheck
Make the team captaincy an open competition.
Fill the “team comedian” void left in Tim Byrdak’s wake and replace shaving cream pies with head dunks into the piranha tank
Obtain all of Frank Francisco’s twitter followers
Deck a clubbie

Speaking of closures, just saw this on MLBTR:
There’s talk among scouts that the Braves will listen to trade offers for left-handed reliever Jonny Venters, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports (on Twitter).
Have to wonder why the Brave would do this. What are t hey looking for? They appear set in so many positions.
Third base, maybe? SP?

Man has to be an arm injury there.

as a general rule of thumb, if the Braves are looking to move a pitcher, you don’t want him.

Why not? Pick him up cheap, hope he does well and trade him for some more MILB depth.

Is it worth the negative press and potential for pulling a Krod to bring him in when he looks shot? There’s a reason he’s still out there.

Considering the totality of the negative press surrounding the Mets franchise brought about by the Wilpons financial problems and investment scandals and poor performance of the ballclub any additional brought about by KRod would be the equivalent of a fart in a windstorm.

Weeeeeelllllllll….
Willing to come in with a tiny deal with bonuses based on achievements and a clause voiding everything if you beat your kids on national TV during banner day?
Sure, bring him in.
