So could there be a possible fit here? Obviously it would take more than just Ike Davis to bring back Fowler or would it? I think this one has more life to it than Aoki. Folwer, 27, had a down year last year in a hitter's paradise with a .263 .369 .407 .776. His home and away splits last year were incredibly significant as they have been for most of his career. (.298 .395 .485 .880 home, .241 .333 .361 .694 away). He is also owed 7.5M for 2014 after which he has one year of arbitration remaining and becomes a FA after the 2015 season. He's a below average CF but most likely would be an average RF.
Still it could benefit the Mets to trade Davis and a depth type pitcher to the Rockies for Fowler. Considering Alderson has made it known he would like to add two OF, adding Fowler with Ike's money coming off would be a cheap solution that allows them to spend more on a more significant OF. Could Granderson, Lagares and Fowler work?
