I applaud the releasing of Castillo.  It was something that had to be done, something that had to be addressed and something that this team needed to see.  Castillo lived on borrowed time from the moment Spring Training started.  It was time for him to go.Now it's time to rid the team of another. We all know who that is, don't we?Oliver Perez came into today's exhibition game vs. the Nationals with no outs and two men on.  He immediately gave up a three run blast and then followed it up with another single bomb that still hasn't landed as I write this piece.   When all was said and done the "lefty specialist" put the Nationals on the board with 4 runs and failed to get out of the inning. He would put tow more on base before he was removed from the game amid a cheering crowd. This is an exhibition game vs the Nationals.  Do you think he can really "dial it up" for a real one?I don't think so.I won't say I'll eat my hat if he's still on the team tomorrow (because the Mets have a real tendency to make me a liar)  but what I'll say is this:  If Alderson is for real about putting the best team on the field regardless of payroll, then Perez should be shown the door this afternoon.
