According to the twitter feed of his sports agent, Clint Everts has been signed by the Mets to a major league contract. With Igarashi and now Everts, I guess the bullpen is coming together.Everts, who turned 25 in August, was the 1st round pick (5th overall) of the Montreal Expos in the June 2002 draft, which was Omar Minaya's first draft as general manager of Les Expos. A right handed pitcher (and switch hitter), Everts has not yet pitched in the major leagues. In the minors he has a career record of 32-39 with an ERA of 3.98. He has pitched in 191 games, starting 76.Last season in a combined 44 appearances, all in relief, at Potomac (A), Harrisburg (AA - shout out to Fongy) and Syracuse (AAA) Everts was 8-1 with a 1.65 ERA and a WHIP of 1.250. He had a K/BB ratio of 2.62 and struck out 10.2 batters per 9 innings. For those who wonder about my odd title for this post, check out the video below.
