The Pulaski Mariners beat the Kingsport Mets 5-3 Wednesday. 6 players selected in the June 2009 draft played for the K-Mets. Darrell Ceciliani came on with 2 outs in the 9th as a pinch runner but the next batter struck out to end the game. LF John Semel and CF Ronald Harris both went 0 for 4. C John Freeman was 0 for 3 but did have an RBI with a 6th inning sacrifice fly which drove in DH Kurt Steinahuer who had walked, stolen second base and advanced to third on a throwing error by the Mariners catcher. Steinhauer also walked in the 4th inning and was hit by a pitch in the 2nd, but was officially 0 for 1 in the game despite being on base 3 times. His OBP is .565 in 7 games with Kingsport. 3B Ryan Mollica hit a 2nd inning sacrifice fly and had a 4th inning RBI double to go 1 for 3. For more see the box score and recap. The Kingsport Times-News has a game story. Nice story about the K-Mets visiting their local Boys & Girls club.
