- The GCL Mets put an end to their 3 game losing streak with a 9-6 victory over the GCL Cardinals Sunday. 2009 draftee RF Kurt Steinhauer was 1 for 4 with a 4th inning RBI single and a walk. Other class of 2009 members playing included C Nelfi Zapata who was 2 for 4 with his 3rd double of the season and 2 runs scored, RF Cody Holliday who was 1 for 3 with his 2nd double of the season and a walk, and OF ZeErika Hall who pinch ran and scored in the 7th inning, stayed in as DH, singled then scored again in the 8th, and finished 1 for 2. - The Kingsport Mets lost 9-7 to the Greeneville Astros. Class of '09 draftee CF Ronald Harris went hitless in 5 at bats but did drive in a run. C John Freeman was 0 for 3 with a walk. 3B Joe Bonfe was 2 for 4 with his 4th double of the season and made his 4th error of the season. RF Darrell Ceciliani was 1 for 4 with a walk and 2 runs scored, and LF John Semel went 2 for 4 with a run scored and 2 stolen bases to give him 3 on the season. See the box score and recap for more. - The 14-2 Brooklyn Cyclones have played the Tri-City ValleyCats 5 straight times and won 5 straight games against them and 8 in a row overall, winning Sunday 3-0 at Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy, NY. The 6 game home and home series concludes Monday. 3 2009 draftees played with mixed results. LF Nick Santomauro and 2B James Ewing were both 0f or 4 at the plate, and Ewing made his 2nd fielding error of the season. But 1B Sam Honeck was 3 for 4 with a 1st inning RBI double and a run scored.
