Here is what he had to say.Regarding how he feels now after what he described as "The incident" which was him being charged with assaulting his girlfriend's father at Citi Field last year after a game he said,
After the storm, the sun came out for me, finally,” Rodriguez said. “That’s what I was waiting for, trying to put behind me a lot of negative stuff and be able to enjoy the game once again.
Regarding being traded he said,
"I don't have no hard feelings for nobody. They did what they had to do. They need to unload a lot of money and I was making too much money right now."
It was surprising. I knew they were going to move me, but I did not think it would be that quick.
Regarding his former agent Paul Kinzer not submitting his no-trade list he said,
I was a little disappointed,” Rodriguez said. “We discussed that. He said he got everything in the papers, he got everything done. But apparently it wasn’t like that.
Regarding the Mets attempt to renegotiate his contract with his former agent Kinzer he said,
We tried,” said Rodriguez. “I guess it worked out better at this point.
Asked if he thought his new agent Scott Boras may have been able to make a deal similar to the one he did with Milwaukee given time with the Mets he said,
"Who knows? ... It's hard for me to tell you exactly what would happen with Boras in that case."
Regarding his future he said,
Who knows?” he said. “In the future, I might be wearing a Mets uniform.
