It's Groundhog Day everyone !! According to Dave Waldstein of the New York Times, recently signed pitcher, Kelvim Escobar is feeling discomfort in his surgically repaired shoulder "While working out in preparation to join the Mets, reliever Kelvim Escobar felt some discomfort in his right shoulder, so the Mets will proceed slowly with him. He will not be up to speed with the rest of the pitchers when he reports to camp on Thursday. Escobar, who had surgery on his shoulder in 2007, missed all of 2008 and pitched only five innings last year for the Angels. General Manager Omar Minaya wants Escobar, who had 38 saves for the Blue Jays in 2002, and the Japanese right-hander Ryota Takahashi to vie for the eighth-inning setup role."Get well soon Kelvim, but I just can't help but wonder if it's time to break out that brand spanking new Mets ambulance yet? " Yup - Omar's in the drivers seat !!"
