It wasn’t perfect, but Friday was another good night on the farm.  Let’s have a look:

 

Fresno 5, Las Vegas 1

 

Logan Verrett surrendered 4 runs on 8 hits over 5.1 innings, striking out 3.  Vic Black walked 1 and struck out 2 in a scoreless inning.  The 51s offense managed just 4 singles.

 

Binghamton 7, New Hampshire 0

 

Rainy Lara threw 7 shutout innings, allowing 3 hits, walking none and striking out 3.  Cody Satterwhite and Chase Bradford each threw a scoreless inning.  Brian Burgamy had a pair of solo homers.  Matt Clark also hit a solo homer.  Matt Reynolds was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored.  Darrell Ceciliani was 1 for 5 with 2 RBI’s.  Cory Vaughn was hitless; he has just 2 hits in the first 7 games of the season.

 

St. Lucie 6, Fort Myers 3

 

Steven Matz struck out 6 in 6 innings, allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits and 1 walk.  Bret Mitchell threw 2 shutout innings, striking out 3 to get the win.  Randy Fontanez struck out to in a scoreless 9th and picked up the save.  Dilson Herrera, Brandon Nimmo, T.J. Rivera, and Phillip Evans all had 2 hits each.  Herrera and Rivera each doubled.  Nimmo struck out twice but also drove in 2 runs.

 

Savannah 4, Rome 1

 

Robert Gsellman allowed 1 unearned run over 7 innings of work, giving up 6 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6.  Robert Coles got the final 4 outs, striking out 2, to pick up the save.  Stefan Sabol was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Victor Cruzado tripled and drove in 2 runs.  Gavin Cecchini and Dominic Smith both went hitless.
