Binghamton was rained out for the second straight day, but the other three teams were all in action.  Let’s have a look:


Las Vegas 4, Reno 2


Logan Verrett scattered 8 hits over 5 innings, giving up 2 hits and striking out 5.  Vic Black and Jeff Walters each threw a scoreless inning.  Allan Dykstra was 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI’s.  Zach Lutz was 2 for 4 with a triple.  The 51s are now 11-3 on the season.


Jupiter 8, St. Lucie 6 (10 innings)


Gabriel Ynoa got knocked out early, giving up 6 runs in 2.2 innings.  Paul Sewald, Julian Hilario, and Bret Mitchell each threw 2 scoreless innings, but Randy Fontanez gave up 2 runs in the 10th and lost the game.  Dilson Herrera was 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored; he’s hitting .364 early in the season.  Brandon Nimmo was 2 for 4; he’s hitting a cool .400.  Aderlin Rodriguez was 2 for 5 with a triple and 2 RBI’s.  Cam Maron also had 2 hits.


Savannah 4, Augusta 1


Robert Whalen allowed just 1 unearned run on 2 hits over 5 innings, walking none and striking out 6.  Miller Diaz followed with 4 shutout innings, allowing 3 hits and striking out 5.  Gavin Cecchini was 2 for 3 with a double and walk.  Jared King also doubled.  Stefan Sabol drove in 2 runs.  Dominic Smith was 0 for 4; he’s hitting .163.
