Last Night on the Farm - 4/21/13
Last night on the farm, Collin McHugh gave up way too many hits, while the B-Mets and Lucies gave up barely any. Let’s check it out: Colorado Springs 8, Las Vegas 7Collin McHugh started and gave up 4 runs on 13 hits in 5.1 innings, with no walks and just 3 strikeouts, not the kind of outing that would inspire a big league call up. The 51s led in the 9th but Greg Peavey allowed 2 guys to reach base and Sean Henn let them score the game-winning runs, as the Sky Sox racked up 20 hits total. Andrew Brown, Zach Lutz, and Jamie Hoffman all had 2 hits. Hoffman doubled and drove in 3 runs. Juan Lagares homered, his 3rd of the season. Wilmer Flores was 1 for 4 with an RBI. Binghamton 15, New Hampshire 2Logan Verrett had another solid outing, giving up 1 run in 5 innings, but with 3 walks and just 1 strikeout. Adam Kolarek is back in Bingo and pitched 2 shutout innings in relief. Alonzo Harris was 4 for 5 with a walk and 2 RBI’s. Cory Vaughn was 3 for 6 with 2 RBI’s. Allan Dykstra doubled, walked 3 times, and drove in 3 runs. Daniel Muno was 1 for 3 with 3 RBI’s. St. Lucie 1, Charlotte 0Hansel Robles won the pitcher’s duel, lasting 6 innings and giving up just 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 6. Jim Fuller continued his scoreless inning streak with an inning of work and Chasen Bradford got the save after 2 scoreless frames. Just 6 hits for the Lucies, but T.J. Rivera, Brian Harrison, Aderlin Rodriguez, and Dustin Lawley all had doubles. Lakewood 5, Savannah 3Logan Taylor took the loss after giving up 4 runs in 4 innings. Matthew Koch piggybacked for 4 innings, giving up just 1 run but only striking out 1. Brandon Nimmo was 0 for 3 with 2 walks and an RBI. Jayce Boyd and Kevin Plawecki both had 2 hits. Boyd and Greg Pron doubled.
