Yesterday was an organizational sweep, for I believe the second time this season.  Let’s have a look:

 

Las Vegas 11, Tacoma 4

 

Rafael Montero let up 3 runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, walking 2 and striking out 3.  He improved his record to 3-0.  Zack Thornton threw a scoreless innings, and Erik Go struck out 4 while giving up 1 run in 2 innings of work.  Zach Lutz was 3 for 3 with 2 homers and 3 RBI’s.  Allan Dykstra was 2 for 5 with a double and RBI.  Eric Campbell had 2 hits, 2 walks, and 2 RBI’s.  Matt den Dekker and Andrew Brown both doubled.  Danny Muno and den Dekker each had 2 RBI’s.

 

Binghamton 5, Portland 4 (10 innings)

 

Cory Vaughn doubled to lead off the inning and then scored on a sac fly by Kyle Johnson to give the B-Mets a walk-off win.  Vaughn was 3 for 4 for the game.  Darrell Ceciliani, Matt Clark, and Wilfredo Tovar all had 2 hits each.  Greg Peavey got the start and lasted 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, striking out 5.  Chase Bradford threw 2 shutout innings of relief to pick up the win.

 

St. Lucie 15, Palm Beach 5

 

Steven Matz struck out 6 in 5.2 scoreless innings, allowing just 4 hits and 1 walk.  Through 4 outings, Matz has a 1.52 ERA.  Seth Lugo took it the rest of the way, giving up 5 runs while striking out 6.  Brandon Allen was 3 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI’s.  Eudy Pina and Phillip Evans had 3 hits each.  Aderlin Rodriguez was 2 for 5 with a homer and 4 RBI’s.  Maikis De La Cruz was 2 for 6 with a double and 4 RBI’s.  Brandon Nimmo was 1 for 2 with a double, 4 walks, 2 RBI’s, and 3 runs scored.

 

Savannah 10, Lakewood 3

 

Robert Whalen struck out 7 in 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks.  Victor Cruzado was 3 for 4 with a double, homer, and 2 RBI’s.  Jeff Glenn also had 3 hits.  Patrick Biondi, Jeff McNeil, Stefan Sabol, and Matt Oberste all had 2 hits.  Sabol doubled and drove in 3 runs.  Gavin Cecchini and Dominic Smith had 1 hit each.
