Last night on the farm, you guessed it, the B-Mets were rained out. Let’s see what the other three teams did:
Las Vegas 6, Reno 1
Noah Syndergaard was on, allowing 1 unearned run over 7 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7. Zack Thornton struck out 3 in 2 shutout innings. Juan Lagares was 2 for 4 and played all 9 innings in centerfield. Zach Lutz was 2 for 4 with a double and RBI. Wilmer Flores did not start, but he singled and drove in a run in a pinch-hitting appearance.
Charlotte 6, St. Lucie 1
Steven Matz took the loss after giving up 2 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, walking 4 and striking out 5. Julian Hilario gave up 4 runs in 2 innings to put the game out of reach. Albert Cordero doubled as one of only six hits for the Lucies. Brandon Nimmo and Dilson Herrera were both 1 for 4.
Savannah 1, Delmarva 0
Ricky Knapp threw a gem, tossing 7.1 shutout innings, striking out 6 and allowing 4 hits with no walks. Akeel Morris notched his first save of the season with a scoreless 9th. The Gnats managed just 6 singles, but that was enough to get the win. Dominic Smith and Colton Plaia had 2 hits each. Gavin Cecchini was 1 for 4 with 2 strikeouts.
