Last night on the farm, Vegas kept rolling, St. Lucie kept slumping, and Savannah swept a double header.  Let’s have a look:


Las Vegas 7, Sacramento 6


Rafael Montero struck out 9 in 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits and a walk.  Jeff Walters pitched a perfect 9th inning for his first save of the year.  Eric Campbell was 2 for 4 with a 2-run homer.   Dykstra doubled and drove in 2 runs.  Wilmer Flores was 1 for 4 with 1 RBI, once again playing shortstop.


Binghamton 7, Erie 2


Greg Peavey gave up 2 runs in the 1st inning, but settled in after that, lasting 4 innings allowing just 4 hits and striking out 3.  Cody Satterwhite struck out 3 in 2.1 scoreless innings; Adam Kolarek struck out 2 in 1.2 hitless innings; and Jon Velasquez pitched a scoreless 9th.  Darrell Ceciliani was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s.  Matt Clark was 3 for 5 with a 2-run homer.  Travis Taijeron doubled twice and Wilfredo Tovar legged out a triple.


Jupiter 11, St. Lucie 0


Luis Cessa was decent, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits over 6 innings, but he took the loss despite walking none and striking out 2.  Beck Wheeler gave up 3 runs in an inning of work and Julian Hilario got lit up for 6 runs in less than an inning.  Aderlin Rodriguez was 2 for 3 with a walk.  Brandon Nimmo also had one of St. Lucie’s four singles.


Savannah 6, Augusta 5 (Game 1, 7 innings)


A Stefan Sabol homer tied the game in the bottom of the 6th and L.J. Mazzilli drew a walk-off walk to win the game in the bottom of the 7th.  Jared King was 1 for 3 with 3 RBIs.  Patrick Biondi was 2 for 3 with a walk and 3 runs scored, including the game winner.  Dominic Smith went 0 for 3; Gavin Cecchini was 1 for 3 with a walk and run scored.  Kevin McGowan struck out 5 in 5 innings, allowing 5 runs (3 earned).  Dawrin Frias struck out 3 in 2 scoreless innings and got the win.


Savannah 3, Augusta 1 (Game 2, 7 innings)


Dario Alvarez struck out 5 in 4 shutout innings.  Tim Peterson got the win after allowing 1 run in 2 innings and Robert Coles struck out 2 to a scoreless 9th inning to get the save.  L.J. Mazzilli was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI’s.
